If I'm not mistaken, this photo is of a juvenile Cooper's Hawk that I saw in Mineral, CA. It's actually kind of rare that I see hawks up there, especially one as beautiful as this. And since I didn't see any other wildlife to photograph while I was up there, this was a special treat. Although, admittedly, there's enough beauty up there to keep me perfectly happy, whether I see wildlife or not.
"The world has enough beautiful mountains and meadows, spectacular skies and serene lakes. It has enough lush forests, flowered fields, and sandy beaches. It has plenty of stars and the promise of a new sunrise and sunset every day. What the world needs more of is people to appreciate and enjoy it." -Michael Josephson
