coyote

In Tahoe this week I woke up early to photograph the sunrise over a beautiful, snowy meadow. I arrived with the hopes of catching the morning color, getting some nice landscape photographs and possibly some birds. What I didn't expect to photograph was this handsome coyote. It startled me at first, as it emerged from the trees about 50 yards away, but it showed zero interest in me and fortunately stayed around long enough for me to document the sighting. Leaving me, once again, completely humbled by nature and all it's animals.
