As I'm sure you can imagine, getting clear, aesthetically pleasing bee photographs through a macro lens is a patient process. Bees do not stay in one place for very long. In this photo I was zeroed in on one bee, the focus was good, the timing was right, I was about to take the shot and then, out of nowhere, a second buzzed right in. A total gift. "Their feet are dusted with spices from a million flowers.” -Ray Bradbury (referring to bees)

Many of you may have seen this image already. It's the rose that motivated my photography career and continues to be my best selling card, hands down. As I embark upon this new "Photo of the Week" journey, it didn't seem right starting with any photo other than this one. And if this is the first time you're seeing this photo, I hope it is as beautiful to you as it is to me.
